Hi Jay,

Yes I do try to spread them out during the day. I get a lot of things from Vitacost.com - they seem to be one of the best places to get high quality stuff at a low enough price, and reordering from them is very simple since they keep a log of all past purchases in your account - just check off the boxes and they send more. It's pretty cool.

Some of the stuff I originally wrote in this post is now kindof out of date - I've been planning a new post where I share all the updated information I've experimented with since then. I made some awesome discoveries :)
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('933','Greg Thompson','Hi Jay,\n\nYes I do try to spread them out during the day.
Great article! One quick question though: At what times during the day do you take your supplements/vitamins? I know you mentioned a "buck-shot" load of nutritional supplements after your whey shake, but do you take all of your supplements during this time? I know some health experts say that spreading out the intake of supplements over an entire day allows your body to better absorb everything. Is this what you do?

Also, could you mention the brands of supplements that you use? As much as I would hate for supplements to be 'regulated' by the FDA, it has always worried me that there is no overseeing agency which ensures that when I take a Vitamin C pill, I am actually taking a Vitamin C pill and not just a sugar pill.

Also what websites do you use to order your supplements?

Thanks,

From what you have said about your dietary and lifestyle habits there are a few things i picked up on which may explain why you don't get sick. You seem to eat a low carb diet. Sugar and refined carbohydrates are known to suppress the immune system and make you more suceptible to disease, so on a low carb diet your immune system should be stronger. Your vitamin D3 intake would also help strengthen your immune system, but im surprised your didn't mention its effects on telomeres, as some studies i have seen report that vitamin d3 can reduce biological aging by 5 years.
2 things that did concern me though. First is the amount of msg you must be consuming from the gelatin capsules and the binders and fillers in your supplements, and also your intake of omega 3 which is an immunosuppressant, although this may be balanced out by your other activities.
You may want to look up calcium supplementation and increased risk of heart attacks.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('618','Clark','From what you have said about your dietary and lifestyle habits there are a few things i picked up on which may explain why you don\'t get sick.
I am interested in what people "normal" people do.
I have not been noticeably sick since 1990. I know for sure because I get flight physicals every year. Plus my doctor knows I never come in for anything more than lavitra refills and high blood pressure worries.
I am rellay curipous how many people stay hhealthy, without any traceable efforts? I don't take supplements, diet, or go to the gym. I do stay active bicycling but not all the time.

How am I doing it?
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('533','Gary Lussog','I am interested in what people \"normal\" people do.\r\nI have not been noticeably sick since 1990.

Prevention is better than cure—and less expensive than cure.We can prevent a lot of diseases by living a healthy lifestyle.
The very essence of healthy living is simply to do the things that are good for our bodies and avoid the things that are bad for our bodies; it is that simple. However, since there are many things that are good for our bodies and many things that are not, let’s list the main ones:

I liked your story, and I am glad that you got an amazing experience back there, and you should learn our language too, its seems complicated but is very easy to learn

If you can afford it, try the cordyceps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caterpillar_fungus#Traditional_Chinese_medicine

Hi David,

That's a very good idea. It just so happens I'm leaving for China again here on the 5th and I'll see if I can try something like that for awhile.

By the way, if you haven't read the story of my first trip to China, look back in the Archives for it here on my site. It was earlier this year :)

You should try the chinese diet, but not the one you find in the restaurants but the genuine homemade food, The meals are very simple and quick, we stir fly and boil everything, we avoid milk, not because we are intolerant but for some reason most chinese dislike it but we drink a lot of soy milk instead.
And many traditional families make medicine soups that are very healthy with many herbs (the best are ginseng and cordyceps) and exotic animals (alligator, turtle, pigeon, even some insects too, all of them with proven medicinal properties, I swear lol) The soup is better than pills because the body absorbs the nutrients better.
And of course dont forget the tea!!!! many kinds exists but green tea and oolong are the best after the meal, it aids diggestion and prevents disease, My uncle smokes 2 packs everyday but he drinks tea alot and thats why he is very healthy

Thats the lifetyle I got and I havent been sick for more than 10 years
Reply - Quote

Finally - someone who talks sense about whole milk and doesn't demonize it. Whole milk tastes much nicer, too wouldn't you agree? Much more creamy. I find skim milk to be more watery in taste and unless you are absolutely hammering milk pint after pint day in day out, people shouldn't worry about the additional fat - fat in reasonable amounts is good for you.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('454','Protein Supplements','Finally - someone who talks sense about whole milk and doesn\'t demonize it.
